Verse of the Day June 14
This week, as we conclude our three-week series, Journeying with Elijah, we encounter prophet Elijah on another mountain. The journey to this mountain has been costly, at times exhausting, yet it is perhaps one of the most rewarding moments in his ministry and time on earth. Do you ever feel fearful about the future or uncertain about God’s presence in your life? This week, through the lens of Elijah’s own ambiguity, we will explore not only how to deal with these experiences in a hope-filled way, but also think about the impact of our work and the legacy we are called to leave.
Today’s reading is 2 Kings 13:20-21, An End and a Beginning.
The Verses of the Day are 2 Kings 13:20-21,
Elisha died and was buried. Now Moabite raiders used to enter the country every spring. Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.
