Student Ministry

Like the rest of our church family, our Student Ministry (grades 6-12) exists to assist students along their journey of becoming faithfully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We at BBC believe that young people are not just the future of the church – they are an active and vital part of it today!

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”– 1 Timothy 4:12

In a friendly, fun, safe, and loving environment, we are consistently sharing and celebrating the good news of Christ’s love to our students, encouraging them to build a network of healthy relationships with other Christians, and providing opportunities for their spiritual growth both personally and together.

Discovering and using their spiritual gifts for the glory of God is a great way for students to mature in life and in Christ.

We help them make choices and develop habits that will provide spiritual momentum, keeping them moving forward along their journey with Jesus through the glorious highs and difficult valleys of life that await them past graduation and beyond.

Our student ministry program is intentionally crafted to balance three elements:

  1. Dynamic biblical teaching where students can bring their own questions.
  2. A fun environment where students can play games and enjoy quality time with their peers.
  3. Service opportunities to share Christ’s love in their local community and the world.

We do this by intentionally keeping a full calendar with both consistent weekly gatherings and special events throughout the year.

Sunday School – 10:00 am during school year

During our Sunday school hour, lessons are crafted by a rotation of dedicated volunteers and student leaders using the acclaimed “Grow” youth ministry curriculum.

Sunday Night Youth Group – 6:00-8:00 pm

On Sunday evenings, our students meet together led by the direction of Pastor Nate and our Student Ministry Core Leader Sharon Kautz for an hour of wacky games followed by a Bible lesson.

First and Thirds – First and Third Fridays 7:00-10:00 pm

First and Thirds is a time of fellowship for students and leaders, just hanging out and getting to know each other.

We play board games, ping pong, video games, listen to music, etc. It is a safe alternative to other Friday night activities and an avenue to introduce their friends to our community.

Service Projects

In addition to our consistent weekly programming, our student ministry is also committed to various service projects in our local community throughout the year to share Christ’s love to those who need it.

In the past, our students have gone leaf-raking, participated in World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine, served lunch at the Salvation Army, cleaned up our local state park, and many other projects.

Special Events

Throughout the year, we also schedule special events that our students can look forward to. These include our annual Christmas Party, Messy Game Night (May), summer barbeques, bowling and mini golf, Six Flags, and our annual winter retreat to Camp Berea in Hebron, NH.
