A Holy People
We need to ask God both for the desire and the ability to turn away from unholy habits in our lives by truly doing what Peter says next. “Come to him, a living stone, though rejected by mortals yet chosen and precious in God’s sight,” Peter invites us to come to Jesus, a living stone, rejected by some people as insignificant, but chosen and precious in God’s sight.
