Rejoicing in Our Present: The Counting Team

We’re celebrating our 200th Anniversary in 2024! Our theme for this year is Remembering Our Past, Rejoicing in Our Present, Reimagining Our Future.

Brewster Baptist Church has been blessed throughout the years with an incredibly generous congregation.

We are thankful to the many people who give to our church for our weekly offering; the Deacon Assistance Fund; our four designated mission offerings; the America for Christ Offering, One Great Hour of Sharing, World Mission Offering and the Retired Ministers and Mission Offering.

We also receive special offerings for things like raising money for the Clemmers in Africa and sending our Student Ministry to Berea.

We receive these funds in the offering plate, in the mail, dropped off at the office, and many give online, but what happens to it then?

This week we want to highlight the Counting Team of Lorraine Donnelly, Roy Freeman, Paul Goodhue, Marcia Nugent and Nina Gregson.

They volunteer on a rotating schedule to come in each week to sort the offerings into their designated categories, count, and prepare deposits for the bank.

Lorraine then inputs the information into the computer, designated for each category and individual or family who gave.

We appreciate the time and attention to detail that this volunteer position takes to keep all these records accurately.

The team all came together last month to print, sort, and mail all the contribution statements that needed to be sent by the end of January.

We’d also like to thank Marge Oliver for her years of service as the team leader, her continued assistance in preparing the new year’s pledge envelopes and her continual wisdom and encouragement.
