For 1500 years, Easter Sunday for western Christians has been the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox – a sometimes confusing formula which means the date can vary by more than a month from year to year. For example, this year Easter Sunday falls on March 27. In 2015 it…

We were blessed this year to hear the message from Rev. Vincent Fasano. Tonight we participate in the church’s oldest observance during Holy Week. Maundy Thursday is a day and night associated with the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, the betrayal of Jesus by Judas, and the arrest of Jesus. But the central commemoration…

Does anyone here like parades? Last year we had a lot of folks walk in the Brewster in Bloom parade, but I don’t know whether we’re going to be represented this year because it’s on Mother’s Day, May 8. At a parade there tends to be a few groups of people – participants, spectators, and…

Because there is…

I’m excited for us to start a new series today on Going Deeper in Prayer. When we read the Bible one of the activities we hear a lot about a lot is prayer. There are hundreds of prayers in the Bible. The Book of Psalms contains 150 prayers and songs that teach us we can…

Today is one of the biggest annual celebrations in the United States. It’s Super Bowl Sunday, a day of football, money, excess, food and more. Businesses will spend millions of dollars for 60 second commercials. On television and radio, in print and online thousands upon thousands of hours have been spent in producing stories and…
