Doug’s Fund Raising Letter, July 2014
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
The purpose of this letter is to ask for your generous support of our Campaign Fund: Preserving our Past and Building our Future. We’re engaging in a fund raising effort for the first time in ten years because this is an exciting time in the history of Brewster Baptist Church.
Anyone passing by on Route 6A can see the oldest part of our church building is being significantly renovated. Inside the building, we’ve been seeking to fulfill the major recommendations that Church Consultant Bill Easum challenged us with last fall.

Jill and Pastor Doug Scalise
In June, we added a third worship service to help us reach more people. A pastoral search process is bringing new pastoral staff members at the end of August. Barbara Burrill, Pastor of Children and Student Ministries and David Pranga who will serve as Executive Pastor. Other new ministries will begin this fall including Celebrate Recovery led by Pastor Mary and the Deacons.
New staff and new programs are a significant investment in helping BBC to be as healthy in ten years when we celebrate our Bicentennial as we are today. Raising money for outreach and new programs as well as salary support for the next four years will come to about an equal amount as we’re seeking to fix the building, which is why we are seeking to raise $500,000.
Enclosed is a brochure outlining more details of the campaign fund as well as a pledge card and a return envelope. Please return your pledge card by August 31st. You may also view a video in regards to the campaign. We hope you’ll check it out.
Jill and I are giving very generously to this campaign above and beyond our regular giving because we believe God has great things in store for BBC in the years to come if we’re faithful and committed in the present. Please prayerfully ask what the Lord would have you do to help us continue to be a vital, dynamic church impacting hundreds of lives on Cape Cod and beyond. If you have any questions, I would be happy to speak with you in person, please feel free to contact me.
Grateful to God to be on this exciting journey of faith with you,
Pastor Doug Scalise
