Verse of the Day September 9

This week, Rev. Greg Scalise shared a message that explored Exodus 23:10–19 and God’s command to make rest and celebration a regular part of life. Sabbath isn’t simply a reward we earn after working hard; it is a gift and spiritual practice God gives us for our own good and for the good of others. Pastor Doug will share devotions focused on what it means to rest and the need for Sabbath.

Today’s reading is Deuteronomy 5:12–15, Stop and Remember

The Verse of the Day is Deuteronomy 5:15,

Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the sabbath day.
