Caring Ministries

Many Gifts, One Family

BBC's Caring Ministries started in 1996 with thirty of our congregation serving others through a visitation team and a prayer chain.

We now have multiple programs where many members of our congregation are using their gifts to reflect the Lord's love, grace, and mercy to others in our church family and community.

As our church family grows, God continues to bless us by providing people with the exact gifts needed. God has also brought you to Brewster Baptist for a reason.

Practical Care

Life brings seasons that are hard to walk through alone - grief, illness, recovery, loss. Brewster Baptist Church offers practical, personal care for our church family and for our wider Cape Cod community, because you don't have to be a member to be cared for here.

Caring Ministry Team

Led by Deb Quinones, our Caring Ministry Team keeps in touch with members who are sick, homebound, or hospitalized - through calls, cards, and visits - reaching around 25 people a week. The team also carols for homebound members at Christmas.

Cooks Who Care

Led by Lisa Freeman, this team shops, cooks, and delivers meals to members recovering from illness, surgery, or a hospital stay, one less thing to worry about during a hard week.

Caring Nurses

Led by Lisa Freeman, our team of nurses offers blood pressure clinics, helps coordinate Red Cross blood drives and vaccine clinics, and keeps our AED and first aid supplies ready, including staffing a first aid station at the Holiday Fair.

Cards of Caring

Led by Ellen Wilcock, this team sends birthday, anniversary, get-well, and sympathy cards to members and, through Prayer Chain requests, to others in our wider community.

Transportation Team

Led by Chuck MacMillin, this team provides rides to medical appointments for those who need them, and maintains a list of other Cape Cod transportation resources for anyone who needs an alternative option.

Prayer Chain

An email-based prayer request network that lets our church family pray for one another in real time. Submit a request, and it's shared quickly and confidentially with those who've asked to be part of the chain. [Sign up for Prayer Chain →] (placeholder link)

Grief & Loss Support

Bereavement Group Part of our Care Ministries, the Bereavement Group offers support to those grieving the loss of a loved one.

It's a space to share experiences and find comfort through fellowship and faith - walking through grief alongside others who understand that journey isn't always easy, but it doesn't have to be walked alone.

Heart to Heart Led by Sandra Millen, our Heart to Heart team works alongside the Deacons to host receptions after memorial services.

The team meets with families beforehand to plan the reception, then handles setup and serving in Fellowship Hall - so families can focus on time with loved ones rather than logistics.

Community Support

Open to everyone on Cape Cod - you don't need to be a member of BBC to take part.

Food Pantry (Caring Cupboard) For 40 years, BBC's Caring Cupboard has served neighbors facing food insecurity in the Brewster community.

AA Groups Brewster Baptist Church hosts the largest AA meeting on the Lower Cape, providing a steady, welcoming space for anyone in recovery - regardless of church affiliation.
