Verse of the Day Jan. 4

This week we are preparing to start our journey to read the Bible together in a year. Beginning on January 1, there will be a reading from the Old Testament, the Wisdom Literature and the New Testament. Each day the daily devotion will choose a reading from part of that day’s readings.

Today’s reading is Matthew 4:1-11, Learning from Jesus How to Face Temptation.

The Verse of the Day is Matthew 4:4,

But he answered, “It is written, ‘One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
