Verse of the Day Jan. 2

This week we are preparing to start our journey to read the Bible together in a year. Beginning on January 1, there will be a reading from the Old Testament, the Wisdom Literature and the New Testament. Each day the daily devotion will choose a reading from part of that day’s readings.

Today’s reading is Matthew 2:1-12, Where is the Child Who Has Been Born King.

In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage.”
