Series: We Will Tell the Coming Generation

We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD and his might and the wonders that he has done.

~ Psalm 78:4 (NRSV)

It’s important for us to tell and share the story of what God has done to those younger than us, and to the coming generation. It also helps reinforce and strengthen our faith when we recall how God has been with us and blessed us.

As we look at the church in the present, and moving into the future, there are several key areas our church leadership believes we are to pay attention to and focus on. We need to tell the story of faith and of our church to people who don’t know it.

Making disciples who are growing in faith and spiritual maturity, demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit, and able to make other disciples, is a priority.

Creating a leadership development pathway to help produce men and woman who can lead like Jesus; recruit volunteers; lead ministry teams; serve as Core Ministry Leaders, on the Leadership Council, or even potentially serve as staff – or be sent to serve as staff elsewhere – is important to the church’s health and strength.

Making sure our building and grounds and financial situation are all in good shape to serve our large ministry is also vital. These are areas of focus, moving forward.

The thread tying them all together is the importance of providing opportunities for people to connect and build relationships in Christian community.
