Holy Week and Easter at BBC!
On Easter Sunday, March 31, we celebrate the greatest change, transition, and transformation ever, God raising Jesus from the dead.
This year, we will hear Luke’s account of that first Easter morning, which describes the actions of the women who came with Jesus from Galilee.
They came to the tomb at early dawn as soon as it was safe to do so without any of the male disciples. Perhaps they felt weak and even fearful in the face of what had happened to Jesus. They came to the tomb to prepare Jesus’ dead body more fully for burial; they didn’t come expecting the tomb to be empty.
The journey of the women on that first Easter is from isolation to community, from weakness to strength, from darkness to light, and from grief to hope.
This is a journey we all can make as well.
I hope you will join us as we seek to follow and become more like Jesus this Holy Week.
