Unfortunately there has been a bit of a surge of COVID-19 cases on the Cape in the last 10-14 days. Seven of the towns on the mid to lower Cape are now in the red as far as positivity rates.
We take health and safety very seriously and have been following the latest trends closely and have been in communication with the Brewster Health Department.
After much discussion among the staff and the Advisory Council we are going to go forward as planned with the sunrise service at 6:00 am at Nauset Beach and three services in the sanctuary at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 am.
You may make your own choice about what you’re comfortable doing.
You will have the option of an outdoor service at sunrise, an online service which will be streamed, or registering to attend in person.
We wish to make several things clear.
We’re capping registration for each service at the church at 120 people.
If a service hits that number, then the message will be that service is full and you can no longer sign up for it. You may sign up for another, until all three reach that number. If you wish to attend in person, we encourage you to register as soon as possible.
Remember, pre-registration lets us know how many people are coming, it is not a reservation or a guarantee that you will be seated in the sanctuary. We may have to seat some people in the lobby or Fellowship Hall and we greatly appreciate your gracious understanding if that happens.
If you’re willing to volunteer to be in the lobby or Fellowship Hall to help someone else that would be wonderful. We encourage you to come 15 minutes before the service you register to attend as seating will be done on a first come, first seated basis.
We want to stress, if you are comfortable being outside, come at sunrise.
If you have felt or feel unwell in any way this week, if you have any concerns, a serious health condition, or haven’t been vaccinated, please enjoy watching the live stream of your service of choice at your home for your sake as well as for the sake of our larger community.
If you have been vaccinated and/or feel very well and wish to attend in person understanding there is a small element of risk, we will look forward to seeing you and ask that you kindly follow the guidance of our Welcoming Team.
For those who do attend in person, please exit the building promptly at the conclusion of the service and hold any conversations outside, socially distanced for your own health and so our spaces can immediately be cleaned for the next service. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
On April 11 we will return to services at 8:30 and 10:00 followed by the Annual Meeting at 11:15 am.
