Opening Prayer 12/27/09

Dear Lord, you have brought us good news with great joy in the birth of our Savior.  He joined us in a world that is sure and steady, filled with your presence from the beginning, your throne was established, from everlasting your words of hope and promise that draw us ever closer to you. 

We come seeking this new day, more knowledge of you, more confidence in our faith and help in following and serving you.

May the words we share, the prayers we pray and the songs we offer proclaim your praise and ascend through the heavens as we worship.  

For unto us a child was born, and we have come to worship him and give glory to you, Our Father…who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen.
