Our Guest Speaker—Dr. Gilbert Bilezikian
Dr. B, as he is affectionately called, is a native of Paris, France, and is Professor of Biblical Studies Emeritus at Wheaton College (Illinois). Dr. Bilezikian is co-founder with Bill Hybels of Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois.
In addition to numerous articles, Dr. Bilezikian is the author of several award winning books, including Beyond Sex Roles, Christianity 101 and Community 101.
As a professional theologian and a church growth expert, Dr. Bilezikian is frequently called to lead seminars and to lecture in the USA and abroad. His background and expertise have made him a popular lecturer at churches, denominational conventions, colleges and seminaries world-wide.
In 1988 Dr. Bilezikian helped to found Christians for Biblical Equality (CBE) with the late Dr. Catherine Clark Kroeger of Brewster Baptist Church.
Christianity Today has called Dr. B, “the man behind the megachurch” and states that without Gilbert Bilezikian, “There would be no Willow Creek—no small groups, no women in leadership, no passion for service.”
Dr. Bilezikian and his wife Maria live in Wheaton, Illinois. They have four adult children and two grandchildren, John-Michel and Sophie.
