Verse of the Day June 18

Human beings have long been interested in and admired whoever is the greatest. It’s good to make the most of our ability and potential, but the hunger for prominence is a temptation. Even the disciples asked Jesus, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” Perhaps they were hoping to be part of Jesus’ answer. Jesus disappointed their hopes by placing a child in their midst and telling them unless they changed and a became humble like a child, they’d never enter the kingdom of heaven, much less, be the greatest. This week Pastor Doug will share devotions about being humble like a child.

Today’s reading is Micah 6:6-8, Walk Humbly with Your God.

The Verse of the Day is Micah 6:8,

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
