Verse of the Day June 12
This week, as we conclude our three-week series, Journeying with Elijah, we encounter prophet Elijah on another mountain. The journey to this mountain has been costly, at times exhausting, yet it is perhaps one of the most rewarding moments in his ministry and time on earth. Do you ever feel fearful about the future or uncertain about God’s presence in your life? This week, through the lens of Elijah’s own ambiguity, we will explore not only how to deal with these experiences in a hope-filled way, but also think about the impact of our work and the legacy we are called to leave.
Today’s reading is 1 Kings 18:41-46, The Draught Ends.
The Verses of the Day are 1 Kings 18:45-46,
Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel. The power of the LORD came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.
