New Automatic Doors
As we go through our Bicentennial Year, one of the things that we’re focusing on is Reimagining our Future. One of the ways we will be doing that is through capital projects to continue to update our facilities.
We’re always striving to be an accessible place for our congregation and community. In addition to our worship services, many of our ministry teams meet at BBC for Bible studies, team meetings and events.
Our building is also actively used by many groups within our community, including Town elections, AA meetings, Boy Scouts, The American Red Cross, Nauset Garden Club, Bayberry Quilters, the Brewster Town Band, and more.
As you’ve come into the building for worship over the last several weeks you may have seen blue painter’s tape on the walls by our two entry doors that say “location.”
These spots will be the locations for the push buttons for our new automatic doors.
We’ll be adding this system to both the right-hand entry doors into our main lobby.
This will make accessibility easier for people in wheelchairs, using other mobility assistance devices or finding the door too heavy to open.

It will be like what is used at the Brewster Ladies Library.

This work will take place in mid-March and should only take a few days to complete.
Psalm 84 declares, “I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than live in the tents of wickedness.”
Hopefully the new automatic doors will make it easier to be a doorkeeper at BBC and to enter God’s house with praise!
