Where Is God When the Fire is Blazing?

The climate in our country is such that overt racism and anti-Semitism, and related attacks and violence are on the rise. This should be forcefully and clearly condemned by all of us. There is a lack of respect in public behavior and discourse; a disregard for truth, a lack of concern for the common good as opposed to selfish personal desires, and constant demonizing of opponents and groups of people; all these are fueling the fires of violence. Where is God in the midst of what is happening in our land? Where is God when the fire is blazing? If we can figure out where God is, then we’ll know where we should be.
